Clay on the Potter’s Wheel

Clay on the Potter’s Wheel

“This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: ‘Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.’ So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter  formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him” (Jeremiah 18:2-4).

Have you ever carefully watched a potter as he shaped the clay? My husband and I spent five years in Asia and were able to visit the delightful country of Turkey several times. While there I remember visiting a little village where an old woman and man were in the business of making pots into something beautiful. We saw a lot of pots – all shaped by the loving hands of this couple. Some were more beautiful than others.

We are all in a different place in our Christian life, but wherever we are we can be sure of one thing: The almighty, sovereign, and eternal God is shaping us on His refining wheel. Often we resist this refining process because it involves pain. But God is relentless in His goal of producing holiness and Christ-like character in each one of us. He uses our life experiences and struggles in this shaping process. While we are being shaped, we often ask God these kinds of questions:

  • “God, don’t you care about my pain?”
  • “Why don’t I understand what is happening?”
  • “Can I trust that you will bring me through?”
  • “Why is this taking so long?”

It is the choice of the one being shaped if he agrees to what his maker is doing. How many of us, if we were honest, wonder what God is doing in some area of our life? Today you might feel like nobody cares or knows, and you may feel as if you are in a hidden storage place. The following video will help you to understand God’s refining process in your life.

“I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remain (just one grain; it never becomes more but lives) by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces many others, and yields a rich harvest”(John 12:24, Amplified)

How to Prayer Journal

How to Prayer Journal

“My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer” (Psalm 45:1).

Some of the most profound insights and experiences of life come through prayer journaling.God wants to speak and give us insights into life. Journaling brings shape and order to everything that we do. I have been keeping a prayer journal for many years, and it helps keep my life in order and my priorities right. It has been an important discipline in my prayer life, helping me to remember what God has done.

Prayer journaling is a way to dialogue with God daily, so that we can remember what and how God is speaking to us.

Prayer journaling will help you to see real growth in your life because you are bringing to God the things that concern you.Through journaling, you will see your life more clearly through God’s eyes. He has so much to say when we give Him time and seek His face. It’s important to write it down and not miss out on the wisdom He wants to share with us. This following video will teach you how to prayer journal.

A Prayer for the Discouraged

A Prayer for the Discouraged

“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God” (Psalm 42:11).

Do you ever feel discouraged? We all do at one time or another. We live in a world that is filled with darkness and difficulty, and we are trying to bring God’s Kingdom to earth through our prayers and through our lives. Gloomy feelings can overwhelm us when we are emotionally down, but we need to realize that even the greatest of saints got discouraged. Did you know that famous preachers like Charles Spurgeon and mighty evangelists like Billy Graham got discouraged?

I heard the story that one day the devil was auctioning off his tools. They were highly priced – laziness, pride, hate, envy, and jealousy. One tool was not for sale. One person asked, “Why is that tool not for sale?” Satan whispered:

“I can’t afford to get rid of that one. It’s my chief tool – discouragement! I can pry open any heart with that tool, and once I’m inside, I can do anything I want!”

Everyone will encounter the devil’s tool of discouragement, but we can’t live in that dark place. We must learn to resist the devil and trust in God’s deliverance.

Maybe you are going through discouragement today. This live prayer can help you rise up in new hope and joy.

How to Grow in Prayer

Partnering with the Holy Spirit in Prayer for the Lost

Partnering with the Holy Spirit in Prayer for the Lost

“The Holy Spirit wants to share His strength, power, wisdom and information with us. He is desirous of participating with us in life’s endeavors. He certainly wants to participate with us in our prayer lives… The Amplified Bible uses no less than seven terms to describe or translate the concept of the Holy Spirit, our paraclete: ‘Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby.’ The point is simple yet broad. The Holy Spirit has been sent to help us in every aspect of our life and ministry. He is the key to success!” Dutch Sheets

The harvest is ripe! Multitudes throughout the world are opening their hearts to God. We have the wonderful privilege and responsibility in these end times to pray in the harvest. This is a kairos moment (an opportune time, a moment of indeterminate time in which everything happens). Let us not miss this tremendous opportunity to partner with the Holy Spirit at harvest time.

As you pray for the lost, keep in mind that you have a supernatural prayer partner who is helping you. You are never alone when you pray. Many of you have been praying for years regarding lost family members. My husband and I have personally seen several come to Christ through prayer, but it sometimes took years. God worked in some very hard cases as we watched the Holy Spirit remove spiritual blindness one by one.

The lost cannot be reached without the dynamic working of the Holy Spirit in a life. We cannot pray without the help of the Holy Spirit, because He helps us to hit the mark as we intercede for the lost!

This is a 5-minute prayer and teaching that will help you to partner with the Holy Spirit as you pray for the lost. It is called: Partnering with the Holy Spirit in Prayer for the Lost.

A Prayer for God’s Glory and Splendor

A Prayer for God’s Glory and Spendor

“Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: ‘You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being’” (Revelation 4:9-11).

The glory and splendor of God is an absolutely awesome topic to think and pray about. The four living creatures and the twenty-four elders in the throne room of heaven were able to see God in His glory, splendor, and holiness, and when they did they fell down to worship Him, laying their crowns at His feet.

We need to see and worship God in His glory and splendor.Think about it. A glimpse of God’s glory should change our life forever. If we want to go deeper in knowing God, it is so important to worship Him for His glory and splendor. There is a radiance of God’s glory, and nothing on earth can begin to compare with Him. He is so holy and so pure in all of His splendor and beauty. He wants to be known and worshipped in His glory and splendor.

This is a 4-minute teaching that will help you worship God in all His glory and splendor. It is called: A Prayer for God’s Glory and Splendor.
