Reaching Your City Through the Prayer – Care – Share Lifestyle

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16).

God wants us to let our light shine. Every time we pray with someone who does not know Christ, share our testimony, or do a little act of kindness, we are lighting a candle in someone’s life which could eventually lead to their salvation.

For several years my husband and I were involved in what we call the: “Prayer – Care – Share” or “Lighthouse”  Lifestyle. This is a tremendous way to add passion to your daily prayer life. This lifestyle is basically three things—praying, caring, and sharing the light of Jesus with the lost. Prayer will empower our caring and sharing with those who do not know Christ, and sharing with the lost will empower our prayer life. It all works together.

We want to spread His fragrance everywhere we go. We want to pray for individuals and families in our communities and work environments. We want to show that we care through simple acts of kindness. These two combined will open opportunities to share our hope in Christ.

The following video is a short interview with Love KC Prayer Catalyst, Gary Kendall (, His strategy to reach every home in Kansas City through the Prayer – Care – Share Lifestyle. It’s tremendous!

“But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumph—as trophies of Christ’s victory—and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere” (2 Corinthians 2:14, Amplified).
