How to Fellowship with the Holy Spirit

“I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever – the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive…. But you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you” (John 14:16).

We all want fellowship. We want a deep relationship with God, but how many of us know how to really fellowship with the Holy Spirit? So many of us feel like orphans all alone with no Father, no one to guide and help us through life. Many times we do not realize the inner power that we have in the Holy Spirit. He can run everything in our life, but so often we think we have to take matters into our own hands.

The Holy Spirit wants our friendship! He knows everything about everything.

He wants to fellowship with us in life in a deeper dimension than we have ever dreamed possible. He wants to have His strength and power operating within us. He wants to give us His wisdom. He wants to participate in everything we are doing. When we pray, He wants to pray with us and through us. A Prayer to Pray in Jesus’ Name with His Authority

“In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete” (John 16:23-24).

Praying in the name of Jesus is powerful because when we pray in His name, we pray with His authority. God promises to answer whatever we ask in His name according to His will. This is why we must know the will of God in order to pray with the authority of Jesus. This truth is wonderful because we have the assurance that He hears our prayers. Through prayer in His name we shall make known among the nations what He has done. Have you taken advantage of this glorious promise in your own life circumstances?

Let us never forget that the name of Jesus is the key that opens heaven’s account. It brings forth His mighty power in our daily lives. As we pray in the coming weeks, let’s remember what it means to pray in His name and realize the authority we have in prayer. The following prayer will help you.

My Prayer to Pray in Jesus’ Name with His Authority

Jesus, I thank You that when I pray in Your name, I pray with Your authority. I have the assurance that You hear my prayers because You promise to answer when I ask according to Your will. I ask You to give me confidence and boldness in my prayers. You are a strong tower and a fortress that all the forces of darkness cannot withstand nor overcome (Proverbs 18:10). I want to believe in the greatness and power of Your name in my own prayer life. Your name is the key that opens heaven’s account.

“O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens (Psalm 8:1). “Not to us, O Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory because of your love and faithfulness (Psalm 115:1).

Please teach me to pray with your authority and with faith in the power of Your name (Acts 3:16). I want to pray in accordance with all that You are and according to Your Word and character (John 14:13). I want to live out my life and bring forth my requests in your name with thanksgiving (Colossians 3:17). I thank You that You save, deliver, and sets free through the use of Your powerful name (Romans 10:13). I can agree with heaven and bring heaven to earth when I pray in Your name (Mark 16:17-18). In Jesus’ name, amen.
