God’s Provision of Holiness

God’s Provision of Holiness

“So I said: ‘Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts.’ Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.” (Isaiah 6:5-7).

Nothing on this earth compares with the beauty and holiness of God.  As we see how holy God is, is there a provision for our own sense of unworthiness and feelings of failure as we look at our own lives in comparison to such beauty?

Yes, there is the provision of Christ’s righteousness. Through the cross, Jesus takes away our guilt and gives us a new way to live—it is the way of holiness. When we fail to show His holiness, then God displays His holiness through discipline. It doesn’t always feel good and might be quite painful, but through His discipline we can share in His holiness. We can become more like Him.

The truth is that without holiness, our message will lack credibility. Let’s not resist any discipline God may be bringing into our life. Let’s let Him change our heart today through the splendor and majesty of His holiness.

“In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered” (Hebrews 2:10).
